We have been watching The Good Life tv series lately, just finished with season 2. Thanks to Sarah for gifting me the DVDs
I love it, they remind me a lot of us – however Tom & Barbara are probably a lot nicer than we are lol – in their quest for self-sufficiency. I love Margo, she cracks me up with her comments and the fact that she hardly ever cracks a smile!
The weather here has been wet & humid, we seem to have our own little mini-climate because the lawns are nowhere near as dry as Palmerston North or the Wairarapa, we’ve had much more rain than them. Sadly it’s the perfect weather for weeds to grow, but I finally got out in the garden today & got rid of them. Continue reading
Four weeks ago one of our ex-battery hens got broody, quite unusual for a hyline hen as they have it bred out of them so they lay more eggs, but we decided to put some eggs under her and see what happens. Continue reading

We have a new – unexpected – addition to the family. Our sheep are looking quite fat at the moment, Eve in particular was quite big. It didn’t occur to us that she might be pregnant, so we got a shock today when suddenly there was wee lamb in the paddock as well!
