Crazy animal antics

There’s been some funny things happening with the animals lately.

Yesterday I had a bit of a chaotic start to the day. I went to give the chooks some bread & the chook feeder in the run was on the ground, so I put it back up & decided to refill it. I accidentally tipped the chook food all over the floor, argh! Norman the lamb came in and started eating it. Then I realised I’d left the big door of the run & the chooks were out! Had to round them all up – some went to the left, some to the right so that took a bit of time.

Eve the sheep was trying to get into the chook run as she thought she was missing out on treats that Norman was getting to eat, so I gave  the sheep some sheep nuts.    I tried to shoo Norman out of the chook run but he kept coming back in so I gave up! I wonder if he will lay an egg? Lofl

Also, Jersey the chook we gave to my workmate Sarah has been a little escape artist, constantly getting out of her enclosure. Sarah has had to increase the height of the fence around her pen and clip her wings as well because she was scaling a fence that’s about 1.8m high. Yesterday she had a call from the neighbour saying a chook was at her front door trying to come in! lol  Turns out Jersey had found a hole in a fence & got through (or possibly gone out the front gate, along the pavement & up the drive) & gone next door – oops! I wonder if she will settle down when Sarah introduces a couple more chooks …. or if she will just try & lead them astray! “Come on ladies, I know a way out of here!”   Prison break!

Animals are such a great way to add laughter to our lives, they’re always up to something :)
